A BBQ Board or as we like to call it, a BBQuterie board is what we created for this month’s custom charcuterie board.
Nothing says summer more than grilling + bubbly, right? We certainly thought so.

Custom Charcuterie Boards
If you’ve been around all year, you know we’re making custom, fun, charcuterie boards that either pair well with bubbly or the recipes of the items on the board have bubbly in them.
For the month of July, I asked one of my bubblyologists, you know my nephew who helps me create all the bubbly mocktail recipes, what type of board he wanted since July is his birthday month and he requested a BBQ board, so that’s what we did. And of course, it’s perfect timing for any 4th of July celebration.

BBQ Board
Creating this board was simple. Probably one of the easier ones we created. We identified our favorite meats for grilling, gathered some of our favorite sides that pair well with bubbly and put it all together.
For this BBQuterie board, we grabbed some of our grilling foods:
- Sliders topped with cheddar cheese
- BBQ chicken wings and chicken dummies
- Bratwurst
- Chicken sausage: Italian style and garlic

The trickiest part of the BBQ board was timing the grilling process. Here’s what we chose to go on our BBQuteterie Board in order of what took the longest on the grill:
- Chicken wings and dummies
- Sliders
- Bratwurst
- Chicken sausage
Of course, we had all of our favorite toppings:
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Mayo
- Secret Sauce
- Tomatoes
- Pickles
- Shredded Lettuce
- Onion

And what would an evening of grilling up the perfect BBQ board be without sides of our favorite chips? We love pairing bubbly with salty, fatty, delicious items and potato chips are one of our favorites. In fact, we did a whole potato chip + bubbly pairing party that you can easily re-create.
What are we missing on the BBQuterie board that you would have included?
BBQuterie + Bubbly
Just as I am trying to normalize popping a bottle of bubbly to celebrate the everyday moments in life, I’m also tryin got normalize coolers of canned bubbly at outdoor events, BBQs, picnics, etc.
And I get it, canned bubbly sometimes has a strange or bad flavor and the fact is not all canned bubbly is great. But that’s why we’ve done the hard work of trying them for you.

My favorite canned bubbly to date, the one that is always stocked in my fridge, is House Wine brut bubbles. It paired perfectly with everything on this BBQ board (yes, I tried one of everything with it).
The House Wine rosé is ok in my opinion. This rosé is fruity so I didn’t love it paired with this, but it would pair well with last month’s fruit board or if you enjoy a bright, fruity, strawberry rosé. If we had dessert, this probably would have paired quite nicely with it.
Now the Grapefruit Spritz that is pictured in here was not my favorite at all. I LOVE grapefruit flavors and I always give grapefruit sparkling drinks a try and am usually disappointed. This was no different. It’s definitely tart, but I had a hard time getting past the aroma of old grapefruit. So, this one I don’t recommend.

But I have to say, last year, I found the House Wine Paloma and it was delicious. But I only found it once in store and never again, so if you see it and like a Paloma, grab it, you will love it.

Speaking of canned wines, did you know that canned wine and other cans are not the same size? We wanted to find the perfect koozie for canned wines and learned after ordering 9 different ones that only 3 (kind of) fit a canned wine. So don’t make the same mistake we did and check out this post before you make your purchase.
