Football game snacks, I mean that’s why we’re all watching, isn’t it?  I can honestly say I am not a big football fan at all, but invite me to the Big Game party and I am coming up with all the football game snack food ideas and fully invested.

The Big Game + Bubbly?

Now you may be wondering if I drink bubbly when I am watching a sporting event and the answer is, it depends.  If I’m at home or at someone’s house, chances are I have a bottle of bubbly and, of course, my saber to open it.  But if I’m at an actual sporting event the answer is no.

Bubbly does pair well with football game snacks!

And since salty, fatty foods pair so well with bubbly, then why not bring a bottle or make a fun bubbly cocktail to pair with these football game snacks.

Football Game Snacks

In case you haven’t heard yet, we’re doing a custom charcuterie board of the month which we introduced on Instagram earlier this month.  We figured what better way to create the perfect football game snacks than with its own custom board?

The Big Game Board + Bubbly

For Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day, we created the most amazing custom snack board that was all of our favorite snack food (that didn’t need to be prepared) that we love but don’t often eat.

The big game snacks with something for everyone!

Now, let’s take that board and add some additional appetizers to create the most perfect football game snacks.

Creating the board is so easy and to be honest, you don’t need an actual board.  You can use a cookie sheet or even a piece of butcher paper and just like that you can create your very own custom board full of delicious football game snacks.

So we started with some of our favorite snacks from the snack board:

  • Popcorn
  • Doritos
  • Cheetos
  • Cheddar and Sour Cream Ruffles
  • Dots Pretzels

And because we love dips, we added a breadstick and cauliflower cheese dip on this board as well which was a nice savory addition and something a bit different.

And then we created some really fun appetizers!

Fried Chicken

Fried chicken absolutely pairs well with bubbly, so we took a package of fried chicken drummies and baked and added three different dipping sauces:

  • Ranch
  • Honey mustard
  • Creamy buffalo sauce
The big game snacks have something for everyone!

This was a great heartier snack to add to the The Big Game snack board.

Build Your Own

The next appetizer is a create your own type of snack.  As we know french fries and bubbly is a real pairing and quite popular, we wanted to do something a bit different and prepared potato crowns which are just like tater tots except flatter and rounder.

Now each person could create their own loaded potato by using their favorite toppings.  And every bite could be different or they could create a whole loaded potato plate.

Now for the toppings since these might be the best part.

  • Cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Bacon
  • Green onions (not pictured on our board)
These football game snacks are perfect to pair with any bubbly!

For some extra fun, we added some corn chips for those who wanted to create their own loaded corn chip as well.

There is no right or wrong way to prepare your football game snacks for this awesome board.  The key is variety so that you have something for everyone.  And adding a heartier appetizer will also help to satisfy even the hungriest fan.

In fact, we also had individually packaged string cheese, cheddar cheese and sausage for the board as well for a bit more substance and totally forgot to put it out.  But it would make for a great additional snack with a bit more substance.

The Big Game Mocktails & Cocktails

Of course, no board is complete without a bubbly cocktail or a bubbly mocktail for our underage fans.

It’s only fair that we have a bubbly beverage for each of the teams, right?

BuccaBubbly

  • 3 oz Black Cherry Soda
  • 3 oz Fruit Punch
  • 2 oz Fre Sparkling Brut
  • Red Brew Glitter

(To make this a cocktail, top with sparkling wine instead of Fre.)

Combine all ingredients into your favorite football team glass.  Add red brew glitter for extra sparkly fun!

Football game snacks are complete with mocktails and cocktails for each team!

Bubblin’ Chiefs

  • 1 1/2 oz Clear Creme Soda
  • 1 1/2 oz Cherry Soda
  • 1 oz Mountain Dew Major Melon
  • 1 squirt of Jelly Belly Very Cherry Liquid Drink Mix
  • 1 T All Tart Cherry Juice
  • Top with Sparkling Water
  • Red Brew Glitter

(To make it a cocktail, add 1/2 oz-1 oz vodka and top with bubbly instead of sparkling water.)

In your favorite football glass, combine all ingredients.  Add red brew glitter, stir and cheer your team to victory!
