I am a firm believer that when you go out on a bubbly tasting adventure, you need to hydrate first with the best electrolyte drink out there.
And if you have been around here or follow @bubblysideoflife on Instagram, you know that for me, Liquid IV is the best electrolyte drink and here’s why.
Best Electrolyte Drink
I had seen some of my favorite baseball players talk about Liquid IV, so I was curious. Now, clearly, I am not a professional athlete, but I do know that when I go bubbly tasting, I tend to forget to alternate bubbly and water.
Last year, when my girlfriends and I attended Bubbles Fest in Oregon, I required everyone drink a Liquid IV before we began our day and it truly was a lifesaver. And there were times that we drank two a day: one in the morning and one before bed as well.
When we got home from that trip, people were asking me why I chose Liquid IV and quite honestly, at the time, it was because it was the easiest and most accessible. But since people asked, I decided to order the other popular ones at the time and give them a try. And you can read all about my findings here.
After that “experiment,” Liquid IV is always stocked at my house. And when you join me for a fun bubbly event, it always starts with a Liquid IV. My girlfriends have also continued drinking Liquid IV everyday because they say it truly makes them feel better.
I am sure you have heard, “if you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated.” Now, I am not sure how true that is, but it’s something that has always stuck with me.
Here’s what I do know, more people than not are dehydrated. And coffee and alcohol (my two favorite drinks) are two things that cause dehydration.
When you’re dehydrated it can affect you in many different ways, from fatigue to headaches to dry skin to name a few. And these can affect your ability to function throughout the day which is never any fun.
Have you ever realized that the headache you’re experiencing is from dehydration and you desperately try and chug water to relieve it? I know that has happened to me and it seems like it takes forever for the water to kick in.
So, my thought is to be proactive instead of reactive and the quickest and easiest way I know to do that is with Liquid IV, what I consider to be the best electrolyte drink.
Liquid IV Mocktails
You’ve met my two bubbly-ologists, right? Last year it was requested that we create bubbly themed mocktails for kids and those who weren’t drinking bubbly for whatever reason. So, my two nephews stepped up to the challenge and we’ve had a lot of fun creating them.
And now we’ve created some delicious Liquid IV themed mocktails. These are a delicious and easy way to hydrate.
To make Liquid IV, you add one packet to 16 oz of water. You’ll notice that our recipes only call for some of Liquid IV (see the tip if you don’t want any leftover).
- 8 oz Liquid IV Tangerine
- 4 oz OJ
- 4 oz Sparkling Cranberry Clementine Water
- 2 t Cherry Syrup or grenadine
- Oranges to garnish
- Prepare Liquid IV according to packet.
- In your favorite glass, combine 8oz Liquid IV, OJ and sparkling water.
- Add grenadine.
- Garnish with an orange.
TIP: When you add the ingredients in the exact order above and you will get this beautiful mocktail pictured below.
Spring Into Hydration
- 6 oz Liquid IV Acai Berry
- 6 oz Grapefruit sparkling water
- 6 oz Grapefruit Soda
- Prepare Liquid IV according to directions on the packet.
- In your favorite glass, combine 6oz Liquid IV, sparkling water and grapefruit soda.
- For some extra fun, use a sugar rimmed glass.
Berry Refreshing Lemonade
- 8 oz Strawberry Liquid IV
- 4 oz Lemonade
- 4 oz Lemon Sparkling Water
- Prepare Liquid IV according to directions on the packet.
- In your favorite glass, combine 8oz Liquid IV, lemonade and sparkling water.
- Garnish with a lemon wedge and a strawberry.
TIP: If you don’t want any leftover Liquid IV, simply combine all the liquid according to the measurements and add one packet of Liquid IV. In some cases, this could make your drink a bit sweeter.
Liquid IV Cocktails
I have been asked a number of times if you can use Liquid IV to mix cocktails. Now I personally haven’t tried that, but what I have done is make Liquid IV mimosa.
You know I am not a huge fan of juice in my mimosa and truly just like a hint of juice in my mimosas. So to accomplish that with Liquid IV, I simply mixed up Liquid IV, poured 1 oz into an ice cube tray and once frozen, added several ice cubes to my glass of bubbly.
Just a fun way to hydrate by creating a “mimosa” with that hint of juice flavor.
TIP: Liquid IV ice cubes are a great way to keep your drinks cold and hydrate at the same time!
Commonly Asked Questions
Do you drink Liquid IV because you don’t drink a lot of water?
No, that’s not the reason….or at least on a normal day it’s not. While bubbly tasting that is 100% the case. But I drink a Liquid IV everyday and my normal day is 2 cups of coffee followed by water, until it’s time for bubbly. 😉
Liquid IV contains 5 Essential Vitamins: B3, B5, B6, B12 and Vitamin C and is 2-3x more hydration than water alone, so it’s just easier, especially in the winter when I find myself drinking less water.
Can I drink Liquid IV while pregnant?
Ask your doctor! I have known lots of pregnant women to drink Liquid IV, but they did ask their doctor first.
What’s your favorite flavor?
- Lemon-Lime is my most favorite flavor and one I always have in stock.
- Tangerine is one I am gravitating toward during the winter because it has 5x the daily value of Vitamin C, combined with Zinc and Wellmune® designed to maintain and strengthen the immune system and I feel like I can use all the help I can get with that during the cold and flu months.
- Watermelon is the other flavor I typically have stocked up.
Is this safe for kids to drink?
My two nephews (ages 14 and 17) do drink Liquid IV, but, of course, I did ask their parents first. Their favorite flavors are Acai Berry, Passion Fruit, and Apple Pie.
Is your discount code active?
Yes! You will always get 25% off and Free Shipping when shopping at Liquid IV when you use code BUBBLY.
