Festive Vodka Cocktails For Your Next Holiday Party
Nothing says the holiday season like festive vodka cocktails, topped with bubbly, of course! Vodka has always been my liquor of choice and is the one I turn to first most of the time. It’s easy and with so many flavors, it’s easy to make fun cocktails.
Every cocktail we create here is topped with bubbly and I will say that even those people in my life who don’t love bubbly or prefer it, always turn around and top their cocktails with bubbly sometimes even behind my back (because they don’t want to admit it really is better!).
The Most Festive Vodka Cocktails
These fillable ornament shot glasses are so much fun and quite popular this year. And we, of course, had to play around with them. I mean look how fun they can be.
Supplies Needed:
- Champagne coupes
- Fillable ornament shot glasses
- Measuring cup with a spout (ours is 2 oz)
- Fun, festive Ice cube mold
- Brew Glitter
If you’re wondering where to get any of these supplies we are here to help. You can shop our exact products on our LTK shop and we also have a storefront on Amazon with some of our favorite things as well. We try to make it as easy as possible.
Steps to Create Ornament Cocktails
- Fill your ice cube mold with the juice of your choice.
- Add brew glitter to make it even more festive.
- Fill your ornament shot glasses.
- Before your guests arrive, stage your cocktails.
- Put the ice cubes into champagne coupes. Our ice cubes are about 1/4 oz so we typically add 6-7 to each coupe.
- Add an ornament to each coupe.
- Add bottles of bubbly of varying sweetness levels to the area so that guests can top their cocktail with bubbly.
Vodka Cocktail Making Tips:
- Buy fillable ornament shot glasses that are glass and food grade.
- Buy ornament shot glasses that screw on.
- After you pour the cocktail into the ornament, store them in the freezer until you’re ready to set them out.
Vodka Cocktail Recipes
We decided since we had 3 different color fillable ornament shot glasses, we would create three different vodka cocktails. We loved them all and truly couldn’t pick a favorite and they’re all so easy with just a few ingredients.
Our ornament shot glasses are 2 1/4 oz which is the perfect size. I found them at Walmart early in the season and my only regret is I didn’t buy more. If your ornaments are smaller than 2 oz, you will have to adjust the measurements accordingly.
Red Ornament
- 1 1/2 oz Smirnoff Red, White and Merry Vodka
- 1/2 oz Triple Sec
- 1/4 oz Limeade
White Ornament
- 1 1/2 oz Pearl Pomegranate Vodka
- 1/2 oz Limeade
Green Ornament
- 1 1/2 oz Lime Vodka
- 1/4 oz Triple Sec
- 1/4-1/2 oz Limeade
Each of these ornaments was poured on top of white cranberry juice ice cubes. In the coupes with the red and white ornaments, they were white cranberry with white brew glitter to make it more festive.
In the coupe with the green ornaments, the white cranberry juice ice cubes had a bit of rosemary and a cranberry.
Get creative with the ice cubes and have fun with them. The bigger the ice cubes, the less you will need in each glass. And yes, to figure it out, I just put an ice cube into one of my shot glass measuring cups and wait for it to melt because I always forget to measure as I’m pouring.
And, of course, none of these festive vodka cocktails will be completely festive until they are topped with bubbly!
Let’s take one more cocktail and play around with different ways to serve it up at your next party.
White Christmas Vodka Cocktail
I’ve been trying to master this cocktail since last holiday season, but apparently, you can’t find white cranberry juice in Oregon at all. So you better believe when I saw it this fall, I grabbed it and have been having a lot of fun creating with it.
We tested many different versions of vodka cocktails to get to one we really enjoyed. We first made this as just a normal cocktail option for a bubbly night. It’s quite simple and quite frankly, would be great in the summer too because it’s very refreshing.
White Christmas
- 1 oz Lime Vodka
- 1 oz Raspberry Vodka
- 1 1/2-2 oz White Cranberry Juice
- 1 oz Limeade
- Top with Bubbly
Directions
- In the cocktail shaker add everything except the bubbly.
- Shake well.
- Pour into your favorite champagne glass.
- Add brew glitter (optional).
- Top with bubbly.
One way to turn these into ornament cocktails is if your fillable ornament shot glasses are 3 oz, add the vodkas and limeade to those ornament.
If your fillable ornament shot glasses are my size (2 1/4 oz), you have two options:
Adjust the measurements to 3/4 oz of each vodka and the limeade OR create some limeade ice cubes as well as the white cranberry juice ice cubes.
A fun way to garnish these is with sugared cranberries.
