2 New Festive Fall Sparkling Wine Cocktail Recipes

While everyone is out apple picking and visiting pumpkin patches, we’re at home capturing the flavors of autumn in the best fall cocktails ready just in time when everyone gets home from their perfect fall day out and about.

Sparkling cocktails are our favorite thing to make and this time of year we can’t get enough of the flavors of fall in every cocktail creation.  The apple cider mimosa is all over Instagram right now, so we didn’t need to recreate that.  And we already made the most delicious fall sangria.  So it was time to create a new and exciting wine cocktails.

Are you hosting a holiday party this fall season?  If so, we have the best fall cocktails for you to use as your welcome cocktail or your signature drink.  Either of these are a great option and can easily be turned into a big batch drink so you’re not playing bartender all night long.

Fall Drinks

We are leaning into all the flavors of fresh apples and warm spices this autumn season.  We knew we had to create an apple cider champagne cocktail with apple whiskey, but when we looked at the bar cart and saw caramel vodka and apple vodka, we knew we needed to create another apple cider cocktail alongside it.

And if you’ve been around here, you know we always top our cocktails with bubbly, but for this we knew we had an even better way to top it and that’s with an almond sparkling wine.  This created the perfect balance and “warmed” up the cocktail just a bit.

Of course, if you know me, you know I love an ice cube moment in my bubbly cocktails. The ice cubes in the drinks pictured are frozen apple cider.

Apple Cider Cocktail

Apple whiskey cocktail in a champagne tulip on a napkin with pumpkins and fire pit.
  • 1 1/2 oz Apple Whiskey
  • 1 oz Apple Cider or Spiced Apple Juice
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 -1 oz  Cinnamon Simple Syrup or Maple Syrup
  • 3 oz Almond Sparkling Wine
  • Garnish with cinnamon stick.
  1. In a cocktail shaker full of ice, add whiskey, apple cider, lemon juice and simple syrup.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Pour into you favorite champagne glass and top with an almond sparkling wine.

And I know I am not supposed to pick favorites, but this Apple Cider Cocktail is definitely my favorite of the two.  I don’t know if it’s because rye whiskey just warms me up during these cool autumn months or what, but if you have to choose just one to make, this would be the one.

Caramel Apple Cider

  • 1 oz Apple Vodka
  • 1 oz Caramel Vodka
  • 1 oz Apple Cider or Apple Juice
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 -1 oz Apple Spice Simple Syrup
  • 3 oz Almond Sparkling Wine
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick and/or apple slices. (optional)
  1. In a cocktail shaker full of ice, add both vodkas, apple cider, lemon juice and simple syrup.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Pour into you favorite champagne glass and top with an almond sparkling wine.

We rimmed each coupe in Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bun Spread.  If you don’t have that, you can do a cinnamon sugar rim or even do that in addition to the cinnamon bun.

Are you wondering where to find almond sparkling wine for your next bubbly cocktail?  We used Almondsecco from Wilson Creek Winery.  If you’ve been around for a bit, you may have heard me refer to their original Almond Sparkling wine which has a sweeter profile than the Almondsecco.  Trader Joe’s also has an almond sparkling wine.  I also have one from One Hope Winery.

Bubbly Fun

At the time I am writing this, Canada just celebrated their Thanksgiving which reminded me of a collaboration I did with another blogger where we created a full Thanksgiving menu with bubbly as an ingredient in every menu item.  And you might be curious how that works with a turkey or mashed potatoes…it was delicious and so fun to create, but my favorite was the apple pie.

My sister makes the best homemade apple pie ever!  It’s my favorite thing on Thanksgiving and there was one year she didn’t make it (and I clearly haven’t forgotten about that).  What made the apple pie so fun was that she soaked the apples in whole bottle of bubbly for a long time (at least 8 hours) before putting the pie together and baking it.

Well, last year we created two other caramel apple bubbly cocktails using that same method.  Check out those recipes here and let me know what you think.
