What is Bubbly Side of Life?

  • It’s a mantra.
  • It’s a motto.
  • It’s an anthem.
  • Bubbly Side of Life is a way of life.  And even more importantly, it’s a way to live your life.

Bubbly Side of Life is when you embrace the everyday moments and celebrate them because there is no better time to do so than right now!

The Backstory

In 2017 I was at Bubbles Fest in Oregon and I casually posted on my Instagram page.  I immediately got a reply from Sokol Blosser Winery that said, You really are living your Bubbly Side of Life.”  I asked them for permission to have that saying and I promptly went to a lawyer on Monday to get it trademarked.

Now, let me be honest here…I had no clue why or what I was going to do with it, I just knew I needed to have it as my own.

I was working in Corporate at the time and always knew I didn’t want to be tied to someone else forever, but the last straw was when they told me that my 92% win rate wasn’t good enough (even though they expected 33%) and that’s when I vowed to never again let anyone tell me when it was an acceptable time to celebrate.

Why Are You Waiting?

So, why do we always wait until someone gives us permission or until we reach this big huge lofty goal to celebrate?

Why do we only pop the bubbly at events or special occasions?

Why do we hang on to the “perfect” bottle of bubbly for the perfect occasion to celebrate an important moment?

What if there is no perfect occasion to celebrate?

Isn’t it so true that when we work so hard to plan the perfect event, it typically doesn’t go nearly as perfect as we imagined?

It's time to Celebrate!

It’s time to Celebrate!

At Bubbly Side of Life we give permission to celebrate literally anything and everything; the big moments, the small moments and everything in between.

All moments are worthy of a celebration since there is never a moment too big or too small to stop you from popping the bubbly!

We encourage you to embrace that moment now because this is your life and you should do what you love and do it often!

There is absolutely no reason to put off congratulating yourself or someone else for a job well done, embrace the moment now.

Living Your Bubbly Side of Life

Clearly, I am very passionate about not putting off celebrating all the moments in your life….no matter how small or how big.  There really is ALWAYS a reason to celebrate!  It’s part of my philosophy on living your best life.

And I will be the first one to tell you things are not always rainbows and bubbly bottles over here.  I have rough days too, and it’s in those days that even more, we need to find that reason to CELEBRATE!

It’s kind of like practicing gratitude.  The practice of gratitude makes us happier and healthier. It strengthens your positive emotions resulting in more optimism.  And I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, what you think about you bring about, right?  Who wouldn’t want to bring about more positive energy and more reasons to celebrate?

Now your Bubbly Side of Life may not look exactly like mine and that’s perfectly ok.  It’s not about that, it’s really about embracing the everyday moment, living in that moment, capturing that moment and saying, I celebrate you!

As my good friend Jenn once said to me, “Just like the thousands of bubbles in a glass of sparkling wine, so are all that moments in our lives that we can be grateful for….and the reasons we should celebrate!”

And it doesn’t matter how you do it, just that you do it.

Bubbly Side of Life is More Than Just Popping the Bubbly

I am not a professional meaning I am not a sommelier.  I am, however, a pro at celebrating all moments as if they’re the super bowl win of my life.

That being said, I have enjoyed lots of bubbly all around the world.

I drank my share of cava over the course of 5 weeks Spain and even got to disgorge my own bottles.

I found all the sparkling wine I possibly could in the United Kingdom the week I was there.

I lived in Oregon wine country for 2 years, so needless to say, I tasted my way through wine country via bubbly.

I have extensively explored other areas in the US such as Temecula, CA, Santa Barbara, CA, Washington Wine Country, Michigan Wine Country, Finger Lakes, NY and any little winery in a place I might be visiting too.

And I can’t forget Canada.  The bubbly in the Okanogan wine region in British Columbia is a favorite for sure.

Sokol Blosser Winery, drinking sparkling rosé in the vineyards!

So, basically, I have tased bubbly everywhere but France and while it’s on my bucket list for sure, I have always been a huge fan and supporter of sparkling wine made outside of Champagne, France.

And let me explain my reasons why.  Many (not all) sparkling wines are made using the same method that is used to make champagne.  In fact, many sparkling wines even use a blend of the same 3 grapes you’ll find in champagne:  Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier.  So with all things being equal minus the location, why wouldn’t I want to try what’s local? Not to mention, sparkling wines are usually less expensive than champagne.

So, I have made it my mission to shine a spotlight on good, affordable and accessible sparkling wines.  I will never share a bubbly that I have not personally tried.

And as I mentioned I am not a sommelier, but I have spent endless hours learning all I can about sparkling wines and the regions where I am tasting, leaning into what I am tasting and pairing it with foods I love.  And I love to share all of that knowledge with you.

But I also want you to drink what tastes good to you.  The beauty of all wines is that no one is right and no one is wrong.  Just peruse the wine section of any store.  Literally there is something for everyone and someone is buying that wine because it wouldn’t be on the shelf otherwise.

Beyond the Bubbly

What started as a mission to share bubbly that I love and encourage everyone I meet to embrace their everyday moments and celebrate them has turned into so much more.

Because I firmly believe bubbly makes everything better, we quickly branched out from just sharing bubbly to incorporating bubbly into everything we do.  We created an entire line of mocktails with (non-alcoholic) bubbly, a series of recipes that all contain bubbly and it just keeps growing and growing.

We are having so much fun creating endless bubbly themed recipes for you to enjoy at your next celelbration, in fact, we are creating an exclusive space for you to get some of our most favorite bubbly recipes.

Bubbly U

Because Bubbly Side of Life is all about celebrating, enjoying each other’s company and sharing we are creating an exclusive membership site called Bubbly U just for that.

Bubbly U, the exclusive membership site of Bubbly Side of Life

You may know that the ultimate goal of Bubbly Side of Life is to have our own bubbly tasting room where you come in and celebrate and taste all sorts of fun bubbly, but until those doors open, we are going to come together at Bubbly U.

Bubbly U is created for the bubbly lover, much like myself, who loves any excuse to celebrate and wants

  • Celebrate together at fun bubbly themed events (virtually and in person)
  • Have access to bubbly recipes that no one else will have
  • Shop exclusive merchandise
  • Print unique downloadable digital prints that are perfect for yourself or for gifts
  • Participate in bubbly themed classes

It’s no surprise that we love to celebrate and to create any excuse to do so and Bubbly U will be the new place to do just that and we can’t wait to raise a glass and toast with you there.

The Bottom Line

Bubbly Side of Life is truly a way of life.  A way of taking this normal, everyday moment and celebrating it because there really is no time like the present.

And no, it doesn’t matter if you pop a bottle every single time you want to celebrate or not (although we do love that sound, don’t we), what matters is that this becomes your normal way of life.

We began as a passion project to share this philosophy and enjoy some bubbly along the way and thanks to you, it has turned into so much more and I truly cannot wait to pop a bottle and cheers in celebration of you!
