A Must Visit: Tierra Distilling Co. & Cafe in Clarendon Hills

I was first introduced to Tierra Distilling Co. & Cafe at a networking event that took place in their upstairs space that is such a cool atmosphere for events like that.

I loved their friendly staff, rare bottles of liqueur and the fact that they’re just down the road from us in Downers Grove….literally, on Burlington Ave.  We follow the same train track, in fact.  So obviously I had to go back for a tasting experience…with, of course, some fun ideas brewing.

If you have been following Bubbly Side of Life, you know we love our sparkling wine cocktails.  And these are simply cocktails that are made better (because everything is better with bubbles) by topping them with sparkling wine. So, course, I met with Brandon to brainstorm how Tierra Distilling Company and Bubbly Side of Life could work together to create some new creative drink options.

This micro distillery is really making a positive impact on the community and the environment.  Focusing on planet-conscious practices and utilizing unique raw ingredients (ask about the Liquid Gold Kiwi Liqueur), they really are achieving their goal of being a different kind of distillery.  

Liqueurs Pairing with Bubbly

I’m calling this the perfect mimosa bar bundle.  You know, I rarely make a typical mimosa with juice and when I do, I make it for color, not for flavor.  Well with these, you can add an amazing burst of flavor for any brunch or breakfast cocktail.  

• Liquid Gold Kiwi Liqueur-I was so surprised by this one.  And yes, it was sweet, but if you have a brut or extra brut bubbly, this would perfect and not overly sweet.  Of course, if you like sweet drinks, grab and extra dry bottle.  
• Limoncello-you know this is my most favorite liqueur ever.  You can find lots and lots of bubbly cocktail recipes using limoncello.  And this bottle is so good, I came home.  
• That’s my Jam Strawberry Liqueur-if you like strawberry jam, you will love this!  I can not wait to add this to some brut bubbly for the perfect strawberry mimosa.

A Place to Work & Play

Making good use of the space by day, many happy customers utilize this gem of a coffee shop as their “home” office for a day.  They also host a variety of events including a distiller’s tour of Tierra and tasting experience.
